Don Bosco High School, Panjim organized its Annual General Meeting on 15 July 2023 in the school Oratory. The AGM served as an opportunity for the school management, staff and parents to gather and discuss various aspects of the school's operations, achievements, and future plans. The meeting aimed to foster transparency, collaboration, and active participation among stakeholders.
After the registration the AGM commenced with a melodious prayer song ‘ Don Bosco be our guide’ put up by the school choir and a word of prayer, followed by an introduction to the meeting's agenda and objectives by the PTA President Mr. Brian Gonsalves. Our Headmaster Rev Fr Avin Carvalho addressed the gathering highlighting the key achievements, challenges, and developments that occurred throughout the academic year. The minutes of previous the AGM meetings were presented by the secretary Ms Stephanie D’Costa . The Financial Report was presented by the treasurer Ms Nilvette Ferriera, outlining the income, expenditure, and overall financial status of the institution. The new class representating parents were welcomed into the PTA Executive body .
The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Mavis Henriques an eminent Clinical Psychologist, Corporate Trainer and Consultant besides being a visiting faculty at Dnyanprasarrak Mandal College of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management Studies and Dempo College of Commerce and Management. She has been a responsible team player who strives to put those who are psychologically affected at ease. Dr Mavis addressed the gathering emphasizing on the importance of proper mental healthcare in the society and usage of research to tackle taboos around mental health and stopping substance abuse. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Cheryl Prazares . The AGM served as a valuable platform for the school community to come together and discuss important matters related to the institution's progress. The meeting facilitated transparency, encouraged active participation, and strengthened the bond between staff, parents, and students.
