The installation ceremony of the Junior Red Cross unit of Don Bosco High School, Panjim, was held on the 29th of July on Saturday at the Aurelius Maschio Hall. The chief guest and key note speaker of the day was Dr. Charlene Carvalho. Guest of honour: Mrs. Maria de Luz, and the president, Rev. Fr. Avin Carvalho, the Rector and Principal of the school.

The chairman, Master Shawn Ferns, and Master Makenzie Monteiro, along with the coordinator, Tr. Muriel, escorted the guests to the dais. The programme began with the singing of the JRC hymn, followed by the pledge. Mrs. Maria took the oath of office for the newly elected committee members of the unit. The light of the lamp was lit by the dignitaries. Two members, Master Yohann and Master Maverick, introduced the chief guest and guest of honour. Master Elvis presented the annual report.

The boys of the Red Cross unit were installed by the coordinators, Tr. Muriel and Tr. Eustargia. Dr. Charlene addressed the boys on the topic of the epidemic of diabetes mellitus in young children. Master MacKenzie proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting was adjourned by the coordinator.
