23 November, 2024

Rev. Fr. Clive Telles, the Provincial of the Panjim Province, visited Don Bosco High School, Panjim, receiving a warm and enthusiastic welcome during the school assembly. During the assembly, Fr. Clive addressed the students and applauded their exceptional performance in a skit presented on the occasion. He expressed admiration for the students' cooperation in managing props and maintaining discipline as an attentive audience, highlighting their commitment and teamwork.

On November 25, Fr. Clive held an engaging session with the school staff, sharing his insights and wisdom on the integral aspects of Don Bosco method educational approach. He emphasized that "Education is a matter of the heart," urging educators to approach teaching with affection and empathy. Quoting Don Bosco, he reminded the staff, "It’s not enough to love children; they must know they are loved." He underlined the importance of clear communication, reasoning with children, and fostering an environment where they feel valued and understood.

Fr. Clive advocated for a balanced approach to discipline—gentle yet firm—built on clear expectations and consistent boundaries. He encouraged educators to focus on the holistic development of students, aiming to nurture both "Holy people and upright citizens." He highlighted the vital role of educators as mentors, guiding students through their challenges and serving as exemplary role models.

In his concluding remarks, Fr. Clive emphasized the power of patience, saying, "Patience wins it all. As patience is cultivated, it is enhanced, which is possible when an educator takes care of herself or himself." He encouraged teachers to build dreams rather than crush them, urging them to be the Dream Shapers for their students. Fr. Clive expressed heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their wholehearted dedication in shaping the lives of students and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
