On June 12, 2025, a group of students from Don Bosco High School, Panjim had the opportunity to attend a cyber security workshop led by the renowned expert,
Dr. Rakshit Tandon. The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cyber safety in today's digital age.
Dr. Tandon began the workshop by discussing the various cyber threats prevalent today, including phishing, identity theft, and online scams. He emphasized the significance of maintaining strong, unique passwords and the necessity of enabling two-factor authentication on all online accounts. Through real-life examples, he illustrated how easily personal information can be compromised and the severe consequences that can follow.
One of the key takeaways from the session was the concept of 'digital hygiene.' Dr. Tandon likened it to maintaining personal hygiene, stressing the need for regular updates to software and being cautious about the information shared online. He also highlighted the importance of being skeptical of suspicious messages and links, advising students to verify sources before clicking on any unfamiliar content.
